The Common Good

Juliet Vedral

Press Secretary

Juliet Vedral is the press secretary for Sojourners.

As a pastors’ kid, pastor’s sister, and pastors’ niece, Juliet spent several years running away from faith, church, and/or work in the faith-based sector, but didn’t cover much ground due to her habit of wearing five-inch heels.

Prior to coming to Sojourners, she was an editorial assistant at the New York Times Syndicate and served as a professional Christian at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in the areas of outreach and prayer. According to her former boss, she loves “talking to people about Jesus and talking to Jesus about people,” but really, she just enjoys talking in general.

Juliet holds a BA in media studies from Queens College (CUNY) and an MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University. During her “study times” at SIPA, she honed the skills that would carry her far in life: the art of the status update, pithy tweets, and writing about herself in the third person.

Juliet is a member of Church of the Advent, located in Columbia Heights and calls Mount Pleasant home. She is a third-generation New Yorker, but has fallen in love with Washington, DC—despite the lack of a really good bagel and schmear.
