As the power sharing talks between political parties drag on and off, the delays have turned deadly -- literally. An outbreak of cholera has killed 300 people, and thousands of people are fleeing across the border with sick relatives to South Africa for treatment. Health workers in Zimbabwe have asked the government to declare the situation a national disaster. The health system has collapsed together with many other institutions. There are rumors of more talks next week in South Africa. The political process is likely to continue to go around in circles, starting and stopping indefinitely until the fundamental issue of equal and genuine power sharing is resolved. With each passing day, the human cost continues to escalate. Your continued prayers are deeply appreciated. As the situation deteriorates, the lament of Prophet Habakkuk is echoed:
How long, O LORD, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, "Violence!"
but you do not save? (Habakkuk 1:2)
