The Trinity Forum: "On God's Side"
New York Times bestselling author Jim Wallis thinks our life together can be better. In his new book, Jim shows us how to reclaim Jesus’ ancient and compelling vision of the common good—a vision that impacts and inspires not only our politics but also our personal lives, families, churches, neighborhoods, and world. He thinks it’s time to ask what it means to be on God’s side, rather than claim God to be on ours.
Join Jim Wallis, the founder and editor of Sojourners magazine, as he speaks from his new book, On God's Side: What Religion Forgets and Politics hasn't Learned about Serving the Common Good. As Wallis himself says, “The common good is about so much more than partisan politics. It grows out of our personal and family lives, our vocational callings, the mission and witness of our congregations, the moral power of social movements, and the independent integrity of prophetic religious leadership in our public life....Don’t go right, don’t go left, go deeper."
Trinity Church hosts forums on most Sunday mornings during the program year. The goal of the Forums is to foster reflection and discussion at the intersection of faith and contemporary life—exploring issues and providing tools to deepen one's ability to live faithfully at home and at work.
