A Charge Against Gay Union

The Environmental Working Group resigned last October from a presidential advisory panel created to bring together farm and environmental interests on the issue of pesticides. Kenneth Cook, president of the environmental group, accused the administration of having "basically catered to the pesticide industry to delay things" and allowing pesticide risks to worsen. Administration officials, referring to the 1996 Food Quality Protection Act and a report due next August, denied the charges.
