Faith and politics to be debated by two evangelical religious leaders

Jim Wallis and Dr. Richard Land set to square off on the upcoming 2008 election and the impact of the evangelical vote in landmark debate.

Washington, D.C. – Jim Wallis, founder of Sojourners and author of God’s Politics, and Dr. Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, will debate one-on-one for the first time at the FRC Action’s The Washington Briefing 2007: Values Voter Summit. They will address the role of religion in domestic and foreign affairs. The debate will be moderated by David Brody, Senior Correspondent for Christian Broadcasting Network. The Land/Wallis debate has been jointly organized by the Family Research Council and Sojourners.

The debate will begin at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, October 19 at the Hilton Washington Hotel.

Members of the media must register for FRC media credentials prior to the event.
