In July 2006, nearly one year after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, Sojourners sponsored a team of staff and friends to volunteer in Biloxi, Mississippi, with Back Bay Mission of the United Church of Christ. Our work brought us into contact with three remarkable women whose testimony of perseverance is both inspiring and challenging. Over the whine of generators and power tools, we listened to their stories, which we share with you here.
