Today is Spring Equinox Day, which is also World Storytelling Day! Celebrate the art of the oral story by sharing an experience with someone you know, or by listening to some of our favorite stories…

TED talks like Chimamanda Adichie’s “The Danger of a Single Story” (on interpretation) or Elif Shafak’s “The Politics of Fiction,” (human connectivity) or take a listen to some compelling radio stories, like Radiolab’s The Good Show (altruism) or Slow, (the brain and speaking) or This American Life’s Act V (theater in prison).

You may know Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein from their television show Portlandia, but what you may not know is that they both have an expansive musical pallet. Listen to them guest DJ and discuss some of their fondest musical memories on NPR’s All Songs Considered. [NPR]

The Telegraph’s “Picture of the Day” depicts a shark giving a diver (the editor of Shark Diving Magazine) a sweet high-five off the coast of The Bahamas. [Telegraph]

OK GO -- the band that brought you endless music video entertainment through Rube Goldberg machines and running on treadmills -- has expanded their creative videos into new territory: online dating. The dating site OK Go-Pid is now “the world’s most fun and least successful dating site.” [College Humor]

In anticipation of his new book, comedian and actor Michael Ian Black tells us why Hollywood is getting marriage and the love story all wrong. “That movie is titled, When Harry Met Sally, not When Harry and Sally Were Married For A While, Grew Sick of Each Other and Seriously Considered Getting Divorced.” [Hollywonk]

Sugar Magnolia is the name of a brand new eatery in D.C. that specializes in ice cream sandwiches. And they’ve got a bit of an exotic appetite: beet and maple bacon ice cream. [Urban Daddy]

Yesterday, members of the Grammy winning group Arcade Fire delivered a lecture at the University of Texas at Austin titled “Hope, Haiti, and Service.” The musicians have been long-time supporters of the rebuilding efforts in Haiti and shared stories with students on volunteer work and philanthropy. [Pitchfork]
