Crying Out for Creation

“SINKING NOAH’S ARK” (in “Commentary,” by Aaron Gallegos, May-June 1996) points to the timely work of “laying out the clear biblical mandate for believers to protect the environment” done by the Evangelical Environmental Network. It is indeed time for those of us who consider ourselves both Christian and environmentalists to cry out—and maybe we are “in cahoots with” so-called “New Age syncretists”—but shouldn’t we find our natural allies?

Furthermore, those of us who are active in the Democratic Party and are going to this summer’s convention must speak to this issue so that the Democratic platform doesn’t remain quiet around the GOP’s effort to roll back environmental legislation.
